JOÃO PARADA & Savana Barreau

Brazil / FRANCE

Brazil meets France, with a German detour that started earlier than you’d think. João’s first dance steps were in a German folk group in Brazil. He now lives in Germany. He (allegedly) likes Brezeln. We’re not saying it’s destiny, but… Savana has been dancing since she was four, working her way through jazz, contemporary, classical ballet and hip hop before finding WCS. Between the two of them, they’ve covered most of the dance world before ending up here.

Their dancing is technically demanding, creatively bold, and more than a little acrobatic, but you’d never guess from watching them, because they’re both grinning the entire time. Their energy is genuinely contagious, even after a full night on the social floor, even when everyone else is swungover. They teach connection, musicality, and expression in a way that’s clear and practical, no matter where you’re starting from.

INSTRUCTOR

Maxence Martin & Virginie Grondin

FRANCE

Before he was a dancer, Maxence was a judoka. A serious one. Turns out, body control and precision translate pretty well to the dance floor. Virginie has been dancing since early childhood, with a background in multiple styles, before finding WCS in 2007. Together as a teaching and performing couple since 2012, they have become one of the most recognised French duos in the international WCS scene.

Maxence is the guy still on the social floor at 3am, grinning, because he genuinely cannot bring himself to stop. (Yes, he’s teaching at 9. He’ll be fine. Probably.) Virginie is an aesthete in the truest sense. Her style is completely her own, her isolations are borderline unreasonable, and her musicality has a way of making you hear things in a song you never noticed before.

Their teaching is exactly like their dancing: infectious, skilled and endlessly creative.

Olivier & Virginie Massart

FRANCE

Olivier is Belgian. Virginie is from Lyon. Both came to WCS with a serious dance background — Olivier as a competitive Boogie-Woogie dancer, Virginie through rock and jazz. Together they run a dance school in Lyon, and are responsible for raising what feels like an entire generation of WCS dancers there. Virginie is effortlessly elegant. Olivier is… working on it. He makes up for whatever he lacks in grace with twice as much personality, and somehow it works perfectly.

Their workshops are exactly what you’d expect from people who’ve spent years turning beginners into dancers: clear, warm, and a lot of fun.

INSTRUCTOR

Daniel Pavlov & Lauren Jones

USA / UK

Lauren discovered WCS in 2011, promptly moved to Vietnam, took a five year break, and then fell back in love with the dance in Singapore before eventually making her way to Europe. It’s not the most direct route, but here she is. Daniel found WCS in 2013, coming from a background that includes martial arts, psychology and music, which explains why his approach to teaching feels a little different from most.

What they bring is real enthusiasm, clear thinking, and a shared belief that the social floor matters more than the competition result. Lauren is a goofball with apparently endless energy and a lot of warmth underneath it. Daniel is the one making sure the concepts actually land. Both of them have a rare ability to put themselves in their students’ shoes, which makes their workshops genuinely useful at any level.
